Digital Transformation & Empowering Halal SMEs: My Presentation at MIHAS 2025
Last September, I had the privilege of attending the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2025 in Kuala Lumpur—the world's largest Halal trade event. But for me, this visit was more than just a networking opportunity; it was a professional milestone.
I was honored to take the stage at the MIHAS Pocket Talk to present on a topic I am deeply passionate about: "Empowering Halal SMEs: Digital Transformation Through Social Business and Traceability."
A Global Platform at MITEC
Standing at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), looking out at a diverse audience of global industry leaders, I realized something profound. The work we are doing in Bangladesh with Metamorphosis Ltd. isn't just about local implementation—it has massive global-scale potential.
The global Halal economy is currently a $2.4 trillion market, yet many Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) struggle to access it due to complex compliance and lack of digital visibility. My presentation focused on how we can bridge this gap.
The Tools of Trust: Odoo ERP & Blockchain
In the Halal industry, trust is the ultimate currency. It isn't enough to say a product is Halal; you must be able to prove it at every single touchpoint of the supply chain.
During my talk, I explored how the combination of Odoo ERP and Blockchain traceability can revolutionize the sector:
- ERP as the Foundation: Streamlining internal operations so that SMEs can scale without losing quality control.
- Blockchain as the Validator: Creating an immutable, transparent record of a product's journey—from farm to fork.
These aren't just technical buzzwords. They are the tools that "manufacture" trust. Technology, when applied through the lens of Social Business, allows us to uphold ethical values and foster community impact—core tenets that define the Halal industry itself.

Final Reflections
Sharing our vision on a stage as prestigious as MIHAS was an exhilarating experience. It reinforced my belief that we aren't just implementing software; we are building the digital infrastructure that allows Halal SMEs to compete and thrive on a global level.
The conversations I had at MIHAS — with buyers, certifiers, and regulators from across the Muslim world — confirmed what we already know: the market is ready. What it needs is the right technology layer, and that is exactly what we are building at Metamorphosis.
